Gathering at the Villa.
Day 1:
- After the chaos that was announcement at the Temple of Grabthar everyone apart from Sur Albert escaped to the villa just outside of Kracken’s Fall, Sur Albert hiding out in the Dock District while Amon swims out of the city to go find his allies who can fly / teleport Sur Albert out of the city.
- The Villa outside of city, if it has a name the party doesn’t know it only a small engraving above the door which reads “In Memory of Leonis Blackhand, a good man and devoted father, love’s fool. “Beware who holds your heart”
- The Villa was easy to break into, not abandoned but after a quick search it seems uninhabited at least for the past few months. Furniture all under dust sheets, larder empty but tidy. But the grounds have been tended, nothing overgrown, pond outside relatively clear as if in the last month or so someone has cleaned it. The villa is single story and has plenty of room, a master bedroom and guest room plus some servants quarters and even a small unused stable. All enclosed within a small wall.
- Amon turns up in the late evening and the group rest, exhausted after a very stressful day.
- Fia / Arux stops by the inn to pick up allies left in the city and retrieve Sur Albert.
- Arriving at Working Man’s Toil late in the evening, careful to avoid the large groups wearing red and black sashes you are stopped at the door by a bouncer. The man looks embarrassed and even slightly pained but he informs you that W.M.T is now a human only establishment and you should try down by the docks if your looking for somewhere to stay or drink.
- Since you’re trying to avoid a scene and wanted to slip away unnoticed you enquire politely about your companions, Ezri and Vera. The bouncer tells you;
- “They left over a week ago with their half elven friend, you know the one who always wears a lot of black” slightly shocked by this you give a description of Sarin. “Yeah, Sarin, nice girl that one” he seems to realise what he said and loudly says “Right, off with you then!” as a parting comment you whisper back “I appreciate the help, just… be sure you’re on the right side when this all goes to hell. You know?”
- Fia / Arux ask around at the Docks for ships that would be willing to take Non-Humans out of the city. While many are taking passengers along with them as currently the city guard are letting people leave, though searching them first, none would take only passengers for fear it would make them a target. There is one Dilgar captain however who is planning on heading back to the isles and would take passengers… if the coin where right.
- Mills “The Thrice Drowned” captain of “The Pathfinder”, and self-proclaimed proud member of The Bitter Sons (A Dilgar fleet, whose leaders claim direct descendance from the officers of the doomed Minbari fleet that sailed into the Sea of Storms generations ago, or so Aethylthryth informs the group) Mills is willing to have Pathfinder pick up passengers outside of the city but wasn’t planning on leaving for another few weeks. He wants 150 gold for the trip +10gp per person taken. (Aethylthryth who is by far the most travelled in recent years tells you that while on the expensive side it isn’t unrealistic) Mills wanted half the gold given when they set sail and the rest upon safe passage to Dilgar.
- While hiding out in the Docks District Sur Albert asks around for the names of the guards on the gate ... he don't get too far before he notices several Wanted Posters.
- Lady Elenna Blackhand, dead or alive 10,000 gold.
- Albert the False Knight, 5,000 gold for his head.
- A picture of Fia and Arux , (no name attached) have you seen these two warlocks? 500 gold for information leading to their apprehension.
- A 200 gold reward for Shadow Land spies, a drow with a glowing bow.
- Sur Albert hides out until Fia and Arux extract him from Kracken’s Fall.
- Meanwhile back at the Villa, Sarin is on watch while Aethylthryth spends time “Getting to know” / interrogating the people the party saved.
- The rotund older Half-Orc gentleman named Trent is surprisingly helpful and a font of information, other than the hidden smugglers passage out of the city. Aethylthryth finds out from Sarin that he was an information broker within Kracken’s Fall, mostly less than legal contacts. Trent makes it clear that he isn’t a fighter and admits that while he dabbles in the arcane it is focused on Self Defence. That said he is extremely grateful to the party for saving his life and he is surprisingly vengeful, offering his aid for free… for now.
- The High Elves, Dumar (Former adviser to the Governor) and his wife Kerria (Whom Aethylthryth impersonated a few days before) both shocked by the betrayal of the Governor, the blame King Sheridan for these new laws as Governor Montoya never showed any prejudice towards non-humans.
- Dumar and Kerria are in their later years, they would happily reward the party for getting them out of Drazi. Having lived through the fall of the Minbari Empire and the Thousand Eye War they were in the habit of investing their modest (by noble standards) wealth in different nations so they would never again lose all.
- Dumar had suspicions that the King might be looking to gain more power after Duke Blackhands Death and establishing a Governor (Something unheard of in Drazi history) but to openly revoke the Duke’s titles was quite unexpected. Also, being long lived they have grown used to Human jealousy and believe that all this Pro-Human nonsense will calm down within a few years.
- Being, up until this week, part of the Governors court Dumar and Kerria have more up to date news about what’s happening politically around Drazi that Aethylthryth makes note of.
- Brock the Half-Orc, stranger to the party but happy to have been rescued all the same, says he was arrested for getting into a fist fight with some of these new Citizen Defence Force guys who made comments about his mother. Brock was very shocked that he got in so much trouble for that as he gets into fist fights at least twice a month. Member of the Head Takers, or possibly former member as with the death of Krull the guild has mostly disbanded.
- Brock is happy to join the party in a fight. “Hells below, I’ll kill a man in a fair fight… or if I think he’s gonna start a fair fight, or if he bothers me, or if there’s a woman, or if I’m gettin’ paid = mostly only when I’m getting’ paid… but gutting a bunch of prisoners whose crime is that they look different? That’s just wrong.
- The party plan to spend the day resting and planning their next move, also hoping that Lucien Corvus (owner of the small shop Memento friend of Sarin and member of The Hidden Heart) manages to smuggle out other non-humans from Kracken’s Fall since the party gave the word for people to find their way to the villa.
- Throughout the day Fia seems extremely distracted, spending a lot of time reading the book she took from Alicin “The Untempered Schism” and absent minded adjusting furniture.
- The day is relatively quiet with no sign of travellers until just after dusk. Amon, perched atop the roof of the Villa with a collection of rather heavy objects placed strategically around the rooftop, spots a small band making their way up the path toward the villa.
- Unalarmed he informs the group that about 30 or so people are headed their way, a mixture of Dwarves, Gnomes and Halflings. Almost no weapons carried between them.
- The one leading them an extremely red dwarf, beard, cheeks and impressive mane of hair. All bright red. He introduces himself as Relin Stormbrew and says that Lucien sent them this way.
